Over the past few weeks, our team has been working to launch a new donation app called Donate Direct — designed to raise funds for charities and crisis workers on the front lines of COVID-19.

Donate Direct is one of the first of its type to run on Payment Initiation technology. Currently, technical solutions for charities charge a monthly subscription fee or take a percentage. We’ve made Donate Direct entirely free to use for charities.

Donating via Donate Direct is simple:

  1. Selecting your preferred charity

  2. Selecting an amount

  3. Logging into your bank via a secure connection

  4. and… done!

No fees. No commercial interest on our side. 100% of your donation goes directly to the charities’ bank account.

We are currently supporting a number of deserving charities through the app including:

Luke Wiechula, Corporate Partnerships Officer at FareShare, said:

“We are doing everything we can to continue to deliver food to vulnerable people during the crisis. Our service has never been more important, which is why we really welcome Donate Direct. By cutting out admin and transaction costs, it will enable all of the donations we receive to go directly to supporting the people who need it the most.”

Working with Coconut to support self-employed people

We’ve partnered with the team at Coconut to launch The Campaign For The Self Employed, which includes a tool that helps self-employed people to verify income so that they can receive financial aid from the government. The tool uses our Data API to analyse and categorises transaction data for self-employed people so they can submit it to HMRC. We also contributed to a similar project, COVID Credit, from the team at 11:FS and Credit Kudos.

Increasing speed and flexibility of SME loans with Capital on Tap

We’ve partnered with the team at Capital on Tap to increase the speed and flexibility of SME loans, making it easier for businesses to access finance. Using our platform, Capital on Tap customers can now access additional financial support — either by reducing the amount of their regular monthly payments or temporarily increasing their credit limit to get them through the next few months.
