Tell us about your role.
I’m a Client Operations Specialist, which means I help investigate issues, spot bugs, and work closely with other teams to find solutions for our clients. No two days are ever the same; one moment I might be troubleshooting a technical issue, and the next I’m helping improve internal processes. There’s always something new to learn, which makes the role exciting and rewarding.
What brought you to TrueLayer?
I was actually contacted on LinkedIn by one of my previous managers but once I read up on TrueLayer, I was genuinely excited about the opportunity. What really stood out to me were the company culture, values, and how much TrueLayer genuinely cares about its people. That really resonated with me because we spend so much of our lives at work, and being part of a company that prioritises wellbeing and growth makes all the difference.
What are you most excited about over the next year at TrueLayer?
I’m excited to see TrueLayer’s mission continue to grow and evolve. We’re building incredible products and expanding in new directions, so it’s inspiring to be part of something that’s constantly pushing boundaries.
“[The TrueLayer culture] really resonated with me because we spend so much of our lives at work, and being part of a company that prioritises wellbeing and growth makes all the difference.
What’s a typical day at TrueLayer for you?
Every day brings something different, which is one of the things I love most. I usually start by working through client tickets, sometimes they’re familiar issues, and other times they’re completely new challenges that lead to creating new internal knowledge cards or collaborating with other teams. We also have the open opportunity to work on projects that help improve processes etc which is also fun.
What advice would you give to someone on their first day at TrueLayer?
You’ve joined a great company! Everyone here is friendly, approachable, and always up for a chat. Don’t hesitate to reach out and connect with people across teams, you’ll learn so much just by talking to others. There’s a lot of information to take in, but resources like our Help Centre and internal docs make it easy to get up to speed.
How has TrueLayer changed since you first joined?
It’s been amazing to see how much stronger we’ve become in our direction and focus. The products we’re building now are more powerful, more reliable, and more aligned with our long-term vision. It’s exciting and inspiring to see that growth first-hand.
Strangest job you’ve ever had?
I wouldn’t say I’ve had a strange job, but I once worked on the cheese counter at Waitrose, and the cheese made my hands itch due to my sensitive skin so let’s just say it wasn’t the best fit for me! 😄
If you weren’t doing what you’re doing, what might you have done?
I love to travel so probably travel blogging/content. I love exploring new places and sharing experiences, so I think that would’ve been a fun path to take. It’s something I’d still like to explore more in the future.
When you’re not at work, where might we find you?
Spending time with my three-year-old daughter, she keeps me busy, entertained, and grounded all at once!
“People often come to work carrying things you might not see, and it’s easy to forget that everyone has a life outside of work.
Words to live by?
There are so many words to live by, but the one I’d choose is: “Kindness goes a long way, you never know what someone else is going through.” I believe it’s important to be kind and treat others how you’d want to be treated. People often come to work carrying things you might not see, and it’s easy to forget that everyone has a life outside of work. A little empathy and understanding can really make a difference in someone’s day.
Any books, podcasts or films you’d recommend?
One of my recent favourites is The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, it’s such an inspiring read and a great reminder to prioritise your wellbeing and focus on what truly matters. It really puts things into perspective!
